Australia welcomes experienced entrepreneurs or persons with significant business expertise who can contribute positively to Australia's continually growing, robust economy. Permanent Residence
There are five categories in the Business skills migration category:
- Business Owner - if you own or part own a business
- Senior Executive - if you are a senior executive employee of a major business
- Established Business in Australia - if you are temporarily in Australia and you own or part own a business
- Regional Established Business in Australia - if you are temporarily in Australia and you own or part own a business in a designated area within Australia
- Investment-linked - if you are an investor or a business person wishing to invest in Australia
Temporary Residence
If you are staying for over three months, you may be eligible for a Temporary Business Entry (Long Stay) visa which allows you to reside in Australia for up to four years. You can apply for this visa if you are:
- an executive, a manager or a specialist for a company currently operating in Australia
- personnel from an offshore company planning to establish, engage in joint ventures or fulfil an awarded contract in Australia
- an independent executive looking to establish a new business or build partnerships with existing businesses in Australia (applications must be lodged offshore). Since 1 November 2001, if you already hold a Temporary Business Entry (Long Stay) visa Independent Executive steam, subclass 457, you can apply for a further two-year temporary visa from within Australia
- personnel who is under a labour or Regional Headquarters agreement
